This letter to the editor was published today in my home town newspaper.

The following is an exerpt:

"At his inagruation in 1978, the Pope [John Paul II] opened his sermon with resounding words of Jesus, 'Be not afraid!'

..."As we mourn the passing of a great church and world leader, remember that greatness is not about power, wealth, and sucess. It is about facing life fearlessly through our faith in Jesus Christ."

signed,

Pastor
First Baptist Church

I am thrilled to hear a Southern Baptist minister acknowlege the power of Christ our God working through our beloved Holy Father, John Paul II. smile

Who says miracles don't happen? Come to think of it, a few decades ago I knew a Tridentine Baptist, which is a rare combination. I think he eventually became a Catholic, but I'm not quite sure.

Glory to God,
Glory to God,
Glory to God.

The Lord blessed our shepherd St. John Pole the Great with this special peace and Light that he passes to others.

I know not if you have heard about the "hand shake" - Assad and the presedent of Israel shaked hands the Pope's funeral. Now both of them deny, but what was done was done. I belive that it was the Peace of St. Pope John Pole the Great, blessed by God, that made this tiny-huge difference.

Now he is our embassador in the Heavens (with many others) praying for us sinners on earth.

Glory to God,
Glory to God our father who blessed us with such great shepherd,
Glory to God who will bless us soon with a new just as blessed shepherd.
