I must confess that I still harbor some prejudice towards the very wealthy, but at the same time, I have very deep respect for the right to ones own property. The concept that it's government's job to redistribute wealth is as unworkable as it is evil

It should be noted that "economic liberal" in the classical sense refers to a free market, capitalist approach to economics, what generally passes for "conservative", at least in the Republican sense, today. They are using the term to mean more or less leftist... -Daniel, according to them an economic liberal, a social moderate and a Strong Democrat [I haven't voted for a Democrat since Carter]

You are best described as a:

It also said I have a well developed sense of right and wrong and believe in Economic fairness...I thought I was being Catholic.

My spot on the graph landed squarely on the heart of John Paul II. What a great place to be!
Of course, I hated the bias in that assessment...but it is not too far off in the end result for me.
Gordo the Totalitarian Well, I didn't memorize my results nor did I write them down, but they are very close to Gordo's. Me, a Totalitarian?? Well, that's a first. Of course, my family might agree! Mary Jo

to redistribute wealth is as unworkable as it is evil Lawrence, I suggest you read some Belloc and Chesterton in addition to several encyclicals. Quite a Catholic position, actually and not "evil" at all. Wage slavery is evil, as is godless, atheistic communism. DD (Garrett, if it is any consolation, it called me a Socialist as well. I don't like Socialists, and as Soloviev said of the Socialists of his time: "They will not go far as they don't like to sing and they have no poetry about them".)

I have no problem with Belloc or Chesterton, in fact I rather like them. What I had in mind when I said evil, was the welfare state, quasi-Marxism and socialism. At the same time I have no sympathy for international corporations who are the robber barons of the 21st century. The two seemingly different sides actually create a Hegelian Dialectic.

Like Gordo, my point landed on John Paul II except a bit closer to his right hip. Totalitarian it is!

I actually came in as a "Strong Democrat", with a strong sense of right and wrong (glad to hear that ). Funny, I never thought of myself as a strong Democrat that is, and my father the strong republican would certainly have a stroke over that. Everyone baptized into Christ should pass progressively through all the stages of Christ's own life, for in baptism he receives the power so to progress, and through the commandments he can discover and learn how to accomplish such progression. - Saint Gregory of Sinai

Dear Turpius,
I found calling yourself a 'fascist' cute. As for me I am a 'Centrist'. I am social conservative with 38% permissive, and an economic liberal, with 36% permissive.
I also have a well developed sense of right and wrong and believe in economic fairness.
Now my favorite question was the one about people knowing what is best for them. I was quite decisive on that one. No!

Has anyone NOT had a "well developed sense of right and wrong" and doesn't believe in economic fairness?
I guess they just put that on everybody's results to justify our political persuasion!
