Dear Free Greek,

Actually, no, I didn't have the time and I was responding in a somewhat heated way to a comment that was meant to stir up some heat.

I shouldn't have said what I said. And I think that the original comments to which I responded in a heated fashion could have been made more diplomatically and with greater sensitivity given that this is an Eastern Catholic board.

But that's just my view. Perhaps I'm just being narrow.

Dear Steve,

When you've finished ducking, straighten up and let me shake your hand, at least in cyberspace!

I think it is also important to note that there are many Orthodox Christians who would share your view.

I myself was upbraided for criticizing the Union of Brest by a Russian Orthodox Patriarchal priest.

He told me that it was in God's plan for the Union to take place and that God will fulfill his purposes by means of it.

That left me, well, "In Awe." smile

Dear Steve,

Why are people saying I have a way with words?

I just tell it like it really is smile .

Actually, one doesn't work with politicians for 17 years without learning a thing or two in this department!

But don't worry, I always tell the truth . . .

I agree with ukrainiancatholic regarding to the question of when we'll get a new Eparch for Eparchy of St. Nicholas in Chicago.

Some of us are very frustrated with the pace of getting a new bishop. There are various missions ready to move forward to the next level and many other things...but many things can't be done without a bishop.

For the love of God...I just wish they'd hurry up!

But hey...better be slow at getting a worthy priest to be a holy bishop than to be quick and rash to get a bishop who may not be as good. Huh? But still...it's taking way too long!

Oh Lord...grant me patience..."now." Heh heh wink

There are worthy priests right now. Who actually picks the bishop? Is it the Synod of the Ukrainian Catholic Church, or do they only pick bishops for the territory of Ukraine? Or is it the Holy See directly?

Man oh man, St. Volodymir and Olha's is a magnificant Church! Chicago is such a wonderful place and full of vibrant ethnicity and cultural life. I (Though a native New Jersyite) live in the Kansas City area and, believe me, they dont have anything like that out here. The OCA people in my parts are building a new parish because their old one got "too Russian" or something. Besides them, we have Greeks and Serbs, but, as far as ethnicity goes, KC aint the place to be.
WE Russykies also have a petty nice cathedral in Des Plains if anyone's ever been there. But let me tell you that if the would ever build a parish like that in my neck of the woods then Id be in an ascetical byzantine paradise for sure.
