Usually Ebay. biggrin

It depends on what you are looking for, but for general items:

Eastern Christian Supply: http://www.easternchristian.com

Istok: http://www.istok.net/customer/home.php

Liturgix: http://www.liturgix.com

Religious Net: http://www.religiousnet.com

TheoLogic has some links to others: http://www.theologic.com/links/The_Orthodox_Marketplace/Church_Supplies/

Orama is pretty cool: http://www.oramaworld.com

There are lots of others, especially for vestments (i.e. Nikita Borisov) incense (Holy Cross Hermitage) but these come to mind for most general things.

[Begin Shameless Plug]

Well, mine is The Pilgrim's Inn Orthodox Christian Book and Gift Shop. It is a bit of the Christian East in Northeastern PA. In fact, I not only shop there, I am also managing and reorganizing the place during the month of January. Here's our page (although no online shopping, sorry):

On January 30th we're having an Open House, and there's a flyer for the event at the above link.

If you're in the area, stop by, have a nosh, and do some shopping! Let all your friends and family in NEPA and nearby NJ know! biggrin

Seconding the shameless plug biggrin , but 2 warnings:

  • don't blink, you'll miss it
  • don't bring a crowd with you (i.e., more than 3), unless you are adept at synchronized movement biggrin .

The Inn is a beautifully intimate place to shop with a lovely selection of icons and a very good selection of books - plus, the staff are delightful folk, even when Dave isn't there.

Many years,

Neil

Yes, Neil is right: keep your eyes wide open, and look for the sign.

Large groups are most welcome, but you will have to take shifts. biggrin I suggest killing time at the Polish restaurant down the street (they have excellent pirohi and holubki, err, pirogi and golabki).

I know of two Forum-ites who have visited the store. Maybe the next one will be you, or you, or YOU.

SLAVA ISUSU CHRISTU!

Chtec wrote: "...don't bring a crowd with you (i.e., more than 3), unless you are adept at synchronized movement..."

THIS IS NOT TRUE!!!

We had 4 people in the store when I visited in July and we did FINE.... we CRISCO'd the walls when # 5 showed up... :p

And the Polish place is down the street, left at the light, right at the next light, dodge the senior citizens and pray you see the parkingn lot... But it does have FANTASTIC FOOD!!! I'm thinking about a repeat next summer!!!!

Blessings!

mark

ps

if you go to the store, MAKE SURE you go to visit Holy Trinity also. Do the store, then dinner, then Vespers and it's a lovely Saturday evening!!! The church is AWESOME!!!! I especially the love the Holy Trinity of the Delaware water shed.... biggrin

oh sure, now he tells me about the Polish restaurant frown . I had to settle for a sandwich from the deli counter at a local Texaco station - which was pretty good, I must admit biggrin

Needless to say, my favorite would be my own Chaplets & Chotkis http://www.chotkis.com but I also love Light & Life and Eastern Christian Supply, both of which have already been mentioned.

Well, Jaga's Polish-American Restaurant wasn't there when you visited, Neil, so don't feel bad. It had just opened the week before Mark came through.

Mark, it's the Holy Trinity with the Delaware Water GAP, not Water SHED! biggrin

Of course I love the bookshop at Holy Trinity Monaster in Butler, PA whenever I make a retreat there. They have that Paulist Press series on Religious Writers and have all of the Eastern Writers.

I also like a religious goods shop in Wash, DC, near the Franciscan Monastery, in the NE part of the city. Its in a woman's house. Its neat to see how much she has there.

Other than our parish's gift store (St. Thomas the Apostle BCC in Gilbert, AZ) and the Sisters of St. Basil in Uniontown, PA, I like
