So sad and tasteless on so many levels.

Words fail me - how very very sad

It is, indeed, horrible to think of the estimated 45 million babies aborted since Roe v. Wade.

However, in addition to the Pro-Life activities of theCatholic Church in the U.S., private endeavors like Chicago's Women's Center uplifts one's belief in the value and sanctity of life.

Last Thursday, July 22nd, the Center celebrated its 20th foundation in a gala for volunteers, staff, and donors with His Eminence, Cardinal George of Chicago, as honored guest. Many survivors of the intended abortions attended the gala, together with their mothers! (God bless them!)

The Center has documented more than 36,000 births of babies destined to be aborted since it began offering services in 1984, claiming it saved around 1,800 babies from abortion in 2003 alone!

Its "main" Center operates and offers its services right across the largest and busiest abortuaries in Chicago.

Me too. If anyone thinks this society isn't decadent, this proves them wrong.

With all of the people in our country who truly want, but cannot have children, it is so devasting and sad to know that this affront against God and humanity is being promulgated further by people wearing such tea shirts.

There seems to be a tea shirt for every thing bad or good.

I cannot begin to fathom what would cause somebody to come up with something like this. I mean, to be that "in your face" about the issue and basically advertize one's own promiscuity? This has got to be a new low. Can't get over it. Just can't.

It boggles the imagination ... I'd imagine for most women who did have an abortion, it must have been a heart-wrenching decision, and would certainly not want to publically announce that fact.

Perhaps, pro-life groups could counter with "I had a baby!" tee-shirts.

Let us pray to the Lord! (And vote the way that he would want us to.)

To wear a shirt like this is to have complete lack of respect for your fellow man / woman.

Actually, James, that's a nice idea to counter a tacky one!

I have a friend who was a distraught victim of violent crime and decided to have an abortion. Years later, she is the mother of a beautiful little boy. She was scarred for life by having made "the choice" the PP people seem to think boils down to a t-shirt slogan. But she also said that she was at a real low point and went to a clinic that pretty much only told her one option and once they had her money, they seemed unconcerned about the side effects that she suffered from. And she did suffer. And she didn't go to her own doctor at the time, because she didn't want him to know what happened. She was embarrassed and lonely.

I also have a friend who lost two children - one of them six months into the pregnancy (a miscarriage) and the other six months after the baby was born. When I see her sadness I have a really hard time accepting that the willful destruction of a teeny tiny human being is something to be taken lightly enough to be the subject of a t-shirt. There are people desperate to have children. What a gift adoption is.

A few years ago, one of the pro-life committee people at my church was a lady in her early 40s who had had numerous abortions when she was younger and regretted them. She wasn't a religious person at all then - she had a severe, life-changing conversion a la St. Augustine - we never heard the details of it, but she said she was a new woman as a result. She was married for years and wanted a child badly. She did have one - a beautiful little boy - but it was difficult for her to stay pregnant. Although it is claimed that abortion doesn't "mess you up inside," she figures having had multiple abortions did. She said she had no problem getting pregnant when she was being a fool about it. She was a respected local artist and dedicated the proceeds from her sales to a pro-life charity. She was absolutely tireless in trying to talk to women about the mistakes she had made and how they don't have to make them.

The t-shirts from PP are tasteless and sick. I half expect to see inmates wearing t-shirts saying "I killed a bunch of people" or "I robbed a bank and shot the guard." Why be proud of killing? It's a sad, tragic, broken thing.

But remember, you can't have a tee shirt that reads "I had a baby " or "I adopted a baby" because the ACLU won't allow it. It might "offend" someone.
