I also understand that the urinals at the Vatican were likewise raised a few inches - just to keep the Italians on their toes . . .

Check out a GREAT CD: National Geographic's INSIDE THE VATICAN which profiles many of the people who work behind (and in front) of the scenes. From papal photographer, to the guys who wax the floors, to nuns who are restoring sacred tapestries, to the Missionaries of Charity who run a soup kitchen on the Vatican premises, to the Swiss Guards, and on and on.
