Administrator. please remove me from this forum. I came here to learn more about my Byzantine Church home, but have found this to be too full of misantropes who only want to tear down and not build up. I have never seen such hatred among people who call themselves Christian and it is making me say things that I feel ashamed of later. So I will remove myself from temptation. moe

Christ is in our Midst!

Moe!
Please do not leave this forum. You are a voice of reason and Faith and that is so needed everywhere, not just on this forum, but your presence here is a much needed balance and you NEED to be heard by those who are just joining the forum.
PLEASE re-consider.

Dear brother Brian, thank you for your kind response to my request to leave. John the Baptist was also a voice crying in the wilderness and look what happened to him. wink There are some very good people on this forum that I will miss, but there are some who make me so angry that for the welfare of my soul I must leave. One of the first things we are taught as children preparing for First Confession is that we much remove ourselves from an occasion to sin. Rightenous indignation is one thing, but out and out anger at another person is another. I get too angry here dear brother...please forgive me, but I must leave. Continue to keep me in your prayers. I will send you a private message with my personal email address if you would like to keep in touch. moe

Huh? One of the first things taught is that Christ is Lord and Power. Not anyone or anything else. There is the welfare of one's soul. No one -- much less someone never physically met in the context of a computer chat group -- should be able to "make" you feel or do anything unless you, out of your own will, ***give*** them the power to rob you of the Peace that God's Son wills for you. Stop it.
People "make" you angry? No way that should be. Get a grip. Get centered. Get focused. Get free. Claim Christ as your Lord, not any poster in a computer forum. You will then be free to say what you want, in and through His Spirit. Please continue to do so, here.

Moe,

I will encourage you to stay on the forum as well. I have also witnessed the lack of Christian charity among those who profess to be followers of the Lord.

Look at this situation as an opportunity to grow in the Lord. Go to the cross with this in prayer, and appropriate the victory He has already won for you.

Maybe one day we will be a united church "in our hearts". Maybe we will learn to be thankful for being in churches that have the apostolic succession, liturgies, and traditions, whether it is Orthodox, Byzantine Catholic or Roman Catholic.

Your friend in the Lord,
Walt

Moe,

I know it is frustrating, but if you take care to do a little 'census' of the posters, one quickly realizes that it is an amazingly small (but vocal) minority that witness hatred and bitterness.

Dear Brother,

I know I am new here and I'm not sure if my voice will be much of importance but I need to tell all about these since it was once my mistake:

Our Dear Lord told His Apostles, "I am sending you among wolves" and no doubt that pack of wolves still roam around not just in this forum but in our Beloved Church as well. We are a Church composed of sinners striving to become saints. Those wolves indeed makes us angry at times, provoking us by their blasphemies and inciting the flock to fight among each other. Indeed we need someone like you who sees the need of Christian charity. Do grant us that same charity by staying and revoke us if we violate that charity.

It was once my practice to leave when I feel those whom I speak about the Faith has no proper understanding and orientation. I believe it did no good since the issues at that moment wasnt resolve. I still hope someone was there for them.

I cant force you now to stay or to leave. I ask that you reconsider. If it is for the benefit of your soul that you leave, then pray for those whom you are about to leave. If you stay, pray for strangth. May the Lord grant us His Light on this.

Peace

I'm sorry that you seem to feel that speaking up and to question is wrong. I find the Byzantine Forum a healty outlet.

Dear Moe,

I concur with all that has been said.

It just doesn't set a good example for anyone hear to walk away because of maltreatment.

I just can't stand it when people do that . . . smile
