This article appeared recently in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Arcane art of iconography brings painter life of meaning [post-gazette.com]

I've know the iconographer, Philip Zimmerman, for a number of years. It was because of an icon he did for me (a Christmas gift from my parents back in 1983) that started my journey from Calvinist Protestantism to Eastern Christianity.

If you ever have a chance to take a class from him, don't turn down the opportunity. He is not only very talented, he also has a wicked sense of humor.

Excellent article.

Here is a link with some of his work: http://www.comeandseeicons.com/zimmerman.htm

I feel he does very good work, and so do others because it says he did the Carpatho-Russian Seminary chapel and their bishop's residence.

Thanks for sharing, moncobyz.

Mr Zimmerman was my teacher's teacher. His teacher was Bishop JOB [OCA].
You can generally spot the work of someone from this school...
