It has been a while since I have last posted, but I will start posting again now as I have found new things to speak of.
Primarily, I would like to pronounce that I am officially starting a boycott against the Oxford publishing company. Why? Quite simple, they produce the most biased garbage I have ever read. I say this because I used to purchase many books from them and I only recently, after my discovery of the faith, seen how terrible their "scholarship" is.
I have a history book of theirs, regarding ancient history, and I would have loved to read it thoroughly, if it were not for the two chapters they throw in as polemics against the Hebrew people and against early Christianity. Oh yes, they use "Mithras" and "propaganda" words a lot, and I could have delt with setting that book aside...but then I read over my copy of their dictionary of world religion...
Of course, the section on Catholicism is filled with biased feminist, conspiracy theorist garbage (refering to Mariology as "typical or Catholics")and the definition of Anglicanism could have been given it's own book. Other than that, it basically says the same old "scholarly work", Jesus not real this and early christian propaganda that (Mor Ephrem, you would not enjoy that which this book has to say about Addai and Mari, I tell you that much...).
The one exception I will make to this boycott is the dictionary of classical civilisation, which is actually a very great work, in my opinion, not really biased in any way I could tell.
On a side note, what are the Sybilline prophecies? The dictionary claimed they were books of propaganda by Jewish and Christian sources, though I'm not too quickly falling for anything that the Oxford "scholars" have to say.
Is there anyone else who has noticed this trend and would like to join in on this act? (unless you require an Oxford book for some studies, of course).
