One of the TV stations ran for Halloween a couple of years ago, "Plan 9 From Outer Space," "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes," and I believe it was "Terror of Tiny Town" which was like a midget western. They had to be 3 of the worst movies ever made!

A woman I work with told me that her neighbor has a sister who is a nun in one of the RC orders that has not discarded the old habit. Anyway the neighbor invited her sister over for trick-or-treat night just to answer the door when the kids came.

They both had a good laugh all night long. Why? Everyone who brought their kids to the door remarked "nice costume, where'd you get it?" And the nun kept telling everyone that she was wearing her real clothes! biggrin biggrin

Bela Lugosi died early in the production of Plan 9, but they cut and pasted his scene throughout the movie, in addition to the obviously cardboard head stones, seeing the string on top of the flying saucer, etc.

Has to be one of the funniest movies I have ever scene...

What are you talking about!

One of my favorite shows was "Mystery Science Theatre 3000". They showed those kind of movies all the time.

for those of you who are uninitiated; it was a guy in the future, whose bosses hated that he worked hard. So they sent him into outer space and forced him to watch "cheesey" movies. Inorder to pass the time, he made 2 robots to watch the movie and make comments. So you, at home watched the movie, and show a shadow of a guy and two robots and a row of movie seats. It was great.
One episode was a Lassie movie. A traveling Bible salesman greets people" The Lord be with you". And the three figures respond in their best nasal voices "And also with youuuuuuu".
I cracked up.

Mike, I'm afraid Mystery Science Theater has gone the way of the flesh. But I did see "Attack of the 50' Woman" on one of the cable channels last week. Those movies are so awful, they're hilarious. I expect they will be around for a long time.

In about an hour I'm going to a Halloween party dressed up as a (responsible and safe) alcohol-drinking 17 year old boy. wink

Hahahaha! It's gonna be tough to pull off, I know.

So far my costume is a great success - especially when people ask what I'm supposed to be and I answer

Alice,

Incognitus' disguise cool was sooo good that I sure didn't recognize him when he came to my door with his trick or treat bag in hand. Still trying to figure out which one he was - I dusted the door for fingerprints, we'll know soon :p

Many years,

Neil

Dear Friends,

We were out walking through the neighbourhood on Saturday night and came across an artificial "cemetery" on one lawn with fake gravestones . . .

One gravestone was marked with the Islamic quarter-moon and star and underneath was written: "George W. AMBushed."

Yes . . .

Dear Alice - thanks for your kind and welcome words. In the midst of the vituperative politics of these days, it's nice to be able to spread a bit of pleasure.

Dear Niall - many thanks for your contribution to my trick-or-treat bag!

My oldest son went to a Halloween party wearing his hunting camouflage and a Kerry mask and carried an old pink flamingo. It was priceless. Everyone here in Ohio knows that the Kerry hunting trip was only a photo-op.
