I purchased some very nice icon ornaments during pilgrimage and thought others might be interested in them. The gift shop sold out of them but I contacted the iconographer by email to purchase more. I bought ornaments of the Nativity and Pope John Paul II. I don't know if others are available. He also has the John Paul II icon available as a print or mounted. If anyone's interested they can email him at aicon965@aol.com or check out his website at AICONS [ aicon.blago.org] The pope icon is not on the website but he'll send u a pic if interested.

Hello....
Let me start by saying that I've been a lurker here on and off for a couple of years. I never really wanted to get involved posting because of many of the remarks and attitudes that some of the posters have.
That is until I saw this set of posts.
After a couple of days of prayer and reflection, I decided that I could NOT let this go without posting something.
I was VERY excited about seeing the Christmas ornaments and then when I saw Mt. Macrina I was overjoyed. I live 5 mins from there and can see the New Mother House from my back porch.

I've edited your post. Any dispute you or your parish has with the iconographer is not appropriate for discussion on this forum.

The editing, it seems to me, has changed the character of the poster's opinion......which had previously been critical. The only indication of a dispute (post edit) is in your response regarding the editing....
I feel that some dissent, in some form, should be allowed if differences of opinion (discussion) are to be meaningful.
just my disputed opinion,
Steve, who now spends more time lurking.

So that is the ikonostas at St. John's in Uniontown. Too bad they had to make the Royal Doors & Deacon Doors low (because the Latin style altar is on several steps ). I'm curious what St. John's interior looked like when the church was built. Did it initially have an ikonostas? Ungcsertez (who will try to anttend St. John's Rusyn festival on Sun. Oct 30th )

Medved,
Thanks for the update. You may see me at St. John's Rusyn celebration on Sun. Oct. 30th. Bonnie always wants me to demonstrate pysanky (Lemko and Bojko dear drop variety) but I haven't been able to attend the festival the last several years.

Steve,
I've tried to respond to your PM, but your mail box is full.
I take responsibility for editing rusnacka's post. I received a complaint from rusnacka regarding my editing, as well. Now, commenting on the aesthetics of religious art is allowed on this forum, commenting on disputed business transactions is not.
I deleted the comments that mentioned the dispute with the iconographer. Rusnacka via PM and the iconographer via private e-mail informed me seperately that the dispute had been resolved. Given that, I see no need for any discussion on the matter.

After seeing the regrettable responses this post has evoked, I am sorry I even bothered to share anything with this forum.
I was simply attempting to share a pleasant experience that I had with others, thinking they might also enjoy it. Instead, as so often happens here, it degenerated into attacks that had nothing to do with the topic. I was truly saddened by the lack of Christian charity that was shown by some members of the forum.
For the record, my ordering experience with the company was very pleasant. I was treated courteously, the shipment was prompt and I was pleased with my purchase.
I thank the administrator for trying to maintain fairness and charity.
Again, I apologize for the negativity that my sharing of a positive experience has caused.
