I'm wondering if someone who knows APA could help me with something...

I'm trying to cite translated Patristic sources according to APA standards. (For instance, quoting St. Ephrem the Syrian using one of the volumes in Jurgens.) I'm also trying to cite passages from the various documents of Vatican II.

Any idea how to format those according to APA guidelines? I'm looking in the manual, but without much fruit at this point.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

God bless,

Gordo

Gordo,
Just a question - do you have to use APA? I personally find Chicago to be easier.
Anyway, the closest thing I could find was citing a collection of essays (could work for documents in VCII I suppose) and a work in a collection of essays.

Christ, C.P., & Plaskow, J. (Eds.). (1979).
Womanspirit rising: A feminist reader in
religion. [this is just the example in
my book, and the preceeding title was
underlined] New York: Harper & Row.

for a work in a collection of essays:

Fiorenza, E. (1979). Women in the early
Christian movement. In C.P. Christ & J.
Plaskow (Eds.), Womanspirit rising: A
feminist reader in religion [again, this

Oops, I sent the reply in before I was done!

Anyway, here is the example again:

Fiorenza, E. (1979). Women in the early Christian
movement. In C.P. Chrsit & J. Plaskow
(Eds.), Womanspirit rising: A feminist
reader in religion (pp. 84-92). New
York: Harper & Row.

I hope that helps.

I agree. For this paper, though, I am required to follow APA standards.

Thank you for the suggestions, though!

Gordon
