Kind of like "Jews for Jesus" or "Vegetarians for McDonalds", wouldn't you say?

Shlomo Alexandr, You state: Originally posted by Slavipodvizhnik: Kind of like "Jews for Jesus" or "Vegetarians for McDonalds", wouldn't you say? On the Jews for Jesus comment I feel that it is very inappropriate, because we have many Jews that have become Christian. And were not the Apostles and Disciples Jews for Jesus? On the pro-life side, do we not need people on all sides to do this work? Groups such as: Feminists For Life [ feministsforlife.org] , Atheist and Agnostic Pro-Life League [ godlessprolifers.org] or the Pro-Life Alliance of Gays and Lesbians [ plagal.org] . These allies help us, fight against the Culture of Death by being able to make their target audience understand why they should be pro-life and the larger impact that the Culture of Death has on us. The "Jews for Jesus" are Jews who still follow all the Jewish Laws and who believe that Jesus is the promised Messiah. Do they count as Judaizers who were condemned at the Council of Jerusalem? I'd say the Dems for Life would be more like the Log Cabin Republicans (I think that's what they're called. They are the gay Republicans.)Meaning they represent an insignificant minority. Not only that, most of them still voted for Kerry and against the protection of the babies in the womb. (There have been 1,000,000,000+ abortions in the world since 1980 )

Thanks so much for reminding us of these different groups. I have marched with the Pro Life Alliance of Gays and Lesbians as well as Feminists for Life and they are doing wonderful work!!! There is not "one way" to be Pro-Life

While I am neither Republican nor Democrat, I am pleased that the Democrats have seen the writing on the wall and opened the doors to prolifers. That means, at the very least, that the Republicans will no longer be able to take prolife votes for granted. For example, Senator Santorum probably assumed he could break faith with the movement and campaign for Specter with impunity. Then he was surprised by prolife Democrat Robert Casey, Jr entering the race for his seat and giving every appearance that he will win. I say, serves him right. And polls show not a very big difference in prolife sentiment when grassroots Democrats [as opposed to Party leaders] are polled. Even on the congressional level there are a lot of prolife Democrats; I was raised in the Michigan congressional district where Dale Kildee, a strongly prolife Catholic, has held the seat forever [since the 60s, anyway].
I was at the first March for Life that the Gay Prolife Alliance attended. They were expecting to be attacked, and were surprised at the warm support other prolifers showed them. -Daniel

Being a registered Democrat since I became old enough to vote, and having voted to elect a number of Republicans to office, I find "Democrats for Life" to be a breath of fresh air. Thanks for the link Daniel!
I have voted for Rick Santorum in every election, not only for the Senate, that he has run in. I'm not fond of politics to begin with and when Santorum turned his back on Patrick Toomey to support Arlen Specter I vowed not to vote for him again. To my good fortune the Democrats have a pro-life candidate for U.S.Senator from Pennsylvania this year who will recieve my vote.

God bless the Democrats for Life group.
Daniels correct in saying that there are a lot of Democrats who are pro-life. I have long told every pro-life Democrat I come across that if the pro-life Democrats would refuse to vote for pro-abortion Democrats that party would at least go neutral on the issue of abortion and maybe even pro-life. Someone on one of the talk shows pointed out this week that every Democrat member of the Senate Judiciary Committee that is grilling Alito this week was at one time pro-life (except Feinstein).
Lets support this group in our prayers!

Since I am not Jewish in any sense of the word, I shall not comment on Jews for Jesus. I am also not a vegetarian, and have no desire to become one. However, the VERY rare occasions when I have eaten at MacDonald's could have changed my mind! To make matters worse, I had a classmate who had worked in their then head office and who used to regale us with descriptions of what went into their alleged hamburgers. YUKHKHKH!
