Finally, my iconography website is up and running. There are still a few minor flaws that need correcting [some things got clipped in the scanning] but it is viewable here [ eighthdayicons.com] . -Daniel

Your icon of the Vladimir Morther of God is excellent. I like all the colors.
The website looks nice, too. Congrats.

I like St. Joseph with Christ in the style of the Kazan icon. Very unique.
Congrats from one iconographer to another!

Thanks to all for the encouraging words. Rose- The site is still being fine tuned; among the errors is the title "Mother of God, Ever-Blooming"; it should read "Ever-Blooming Rose". I found this icon in a Russian Orthodox church [OCA] in Canton. The priest made a photocopy of it for me and I painted this icon from it, a gift for my daughter, Maria Rose... -Daniel

And Dave- actually the arrangement is not mine; Br Claude, OSB did a similar one of St Joseph, which I more or less copied. I know Br Claude has been the source of some iconographic controversy over the years, but I think his errors were done in ignorance, and that he paints with a certain respect for tradition. Of course, some ultra-Orthodox insist that one should never portray St Joseph with the Christ Child, but I don't buy it. After all, very traditional icons of St Simeon show him actually holding Jesus... -Daniel

Nice website! And you aren't that far from me -- Wooster is not all that far from Columbus. Maybe one of these days I can afford to come do a workshop with you. I'd really enjoy that.
I really like your Icon of St. John the Baptist. I am not usually drawn to those kinds of images. I'm all about the Theotokos, for the most part.
