I never had a pierogi until we had a Polish chap attending our church while he was in Ireland. Wow - what a meal. I'm afraid i would have eaten the one in question smile >

I haven't had them fried [yet] though. Konrad boiled the ones he made for us - amazing.

He is supposed to be back on October, I will have to get him to make them fried this time.

There might have been an image of Jesus on every pierogi I've ever eaten, but I'm too busy eating to notice! What's wrong with this woman?

Berean, maybe this time you'll get saurkraut!

I know of a bartender here in da Burgh whose ambition is to make pierogi shots! She wants to inject vodka into desert pierogi, maybe filled with plums or something. Interesting. I'd definitely buy one!

Dear Friends,

I called my old Pomeranian, "Poncie" which, in Britain, is "pampered Poncie" etc.

But, in Ukrainian, a "ponchyk" is a hollow perogie.

Perogies/pyrohy are extremely popular in Canadian pubs over here.

Just goes to show you King Robert the Bruce was right when he said the Scots originally came from Scythia!

I had thought about that, but am afraid they would not match up to Konrad's wink .

Hey Roger,

Next time you are home, give us a call. We will gladly feed you some good ol' Polish food.
