Hope there aren't any "Byzantine pyrohy" on the menu. Saw such a ridiculous thing at a Byzantine Catholic church picnic in NE Pennsylvania. Just another example of lack of knowledge about their heritage. Gotta laugh, but actually it's sad.

"Byzantine Pirohy" do exist. It is "mandated" that half of the fiiling be "omitted" and the onions are "elimanated". Also, they are boiled for only 5 minutes instead of the traditional 15! (...just couldn't resist!) Ungcsertezs

Ungcsertezs: Those sound awful. LOL Speaking of boiling the "hell" out of pyrohy, you know how to make holy water? You pour one quart of tap water into a pot and boil the hell out of it. Korny I know. Have a real nice day, ok? Pavloosh

To tell the truth, when I first read this I started to think of how minced eggplant with onions and garlic would work for Byzantine pyrohy, and in that reverie, never got the joke - which is most excellent. But, in a very similar vein, I didn't hear you ROFTL about the elimanation of the slogan "You've got a friend (how inclusive!) in Pennsylvania".

What's the song that our parents learned at "Ruska Schola"?
Glory, glory Halleluja, mash potatoes and cybulja!
Ungcsertezs (now jonesin' for some good pirohy, domasa of course and not Mrs. T's)

Well, we will be there. My wife ate her first kielbasa at the Slavic Festival in Monroeville in 2001. You see, such foods are not usually available in Colombia.

Certainly not usually but sometimes. I had a friend named Simoni Dobrowolski, his dad was Polish but Simoni was born and raised in Tulu. I bet they had kielbasa there. My friends from Barranquilla and San Andrs certainly had plenty of kibbe and assorted Lebanese food... What city is your wife from? T

Take the Plum exit of the Parkway (before the turnpike entrance). Travel thru one red light, one stop sign (funeral home on your left) and make a right turn at the next intersection (Center Road) ...
the Church will be on your left.
