Dear Tomasz,

May Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ bless you and keep you safe

May the Holy Theotokos, our mother Mary, pray for you and all of us

Perhaps, dear Tomasz, you may realize that you may keep your view of Poland and the Ukraine...to YOURSELF...and the forum will be happier for it? wink No one is striving to change your opinion of history, please do not strive to change ours. biggrin

Whether you are correct or incorrect in your political assessments is not the issue. The issue is, can you in love and charity discuss the issues of our faith with us?

We readily forgive you, and in peace welcome any lively and spirited goodnatured discussion which places Christ as its center, first and foremost.

Please likewise forgive me, a sinner, and pray for me as I pray for you!

Gaudior, in prayer

Dear RP,

Niech bedzie pochwalony Jezus Christus!

Yes, do keep your imperialist views to yourself! smile

It is O.K. to be a Polish ultra-nationalist, as long as it doesn't offend others' ultra-nationalism!

And rather than worry about UPA, worry, rather, about not being a "DUPA" in this respect! smile

We Ukies and Poles have to learn to get along together and to forgive the past.

(As for the American-only posters here who think we're "ultra-nationalists" and anti-this and that - you have to take them with a grain of salt. After all, they think everyone in the world thinks like they do! smile )

We need to learn to respect each other as equals and not within the context of colonizer/colonized imperial politics.

If you asked me what background I was, I would have to say that it is Ukrainian/Polish/Russian/Roumanian/French/Italian/Austrian/Scottish. And that's on a day like today when my memory is poor . . .

We could never tell ethnic jokes in my family because we never knew which relative we would be offending!

I personally believe that everything Ukrainians know about ultra-nationalism they learned from the Irish and Eamon de Valera! wink

And I have the utmost respect for the Polish Kingdom and wish that the Polish Crown was returned to Poland today.

But the age of empires is gone, my friend.

Niech zyje wolna Polska!

Alex

I see that there are a lot of people on this forum who understand and know how to admire Poland's rich contribution to humanity.

Dear Lauro,

Actually, you are right.

Met. A. Sheptytsky and many others, including Prof. Antonovych, came from Polish-Ukrainian aristocratic families that returned to their Ukie roots and served their Church and nation.

They brought the rich amalgam of Polish and Ukrainian personal and cultural resources with them to do so.
