the area in Yellow is the region where the Ruthenians/Rusnaks/Rusyn/Carpatho-all-of-the-above lived. Notice it runs along the ridge of the Carpathian mountains. Ruthenia today is currently in Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine, and Romania.
