Bless me a sinner, Father Mark!

Yes, indeed!

And the new revision of the Old Rite Prayerbook in Pennsylvania leaves out the Canon, I believe, to our Lord Jesus because it was composed after the Nikonian crisis.

I'll send you the Akathist to St Avvakum when I have finished to see what you think!

Yes, that WOULD be a good thing!

Fr John Whiteford's online Reader's Service Horologion is structured on the Old Rite book approved by Bishop Daniel of the Old Rite.

Fr. John has the "Lord have mercy" and the "Alleluia" at the end of the Psalm readings 3 times rather than twice, but that is because he has prepared his Horologion for Orthodox of various traditions.

He does insert a Reader's Service "Forgiveness" at the three appropriate times.

Whilst Vadyka Daniel was very much behind the reader horologion I'm not sore that it can be called Old Rite. The invitatory before the psalmody is not Old Rite wording nor is the prayer of the hours and various other little details. It is, however, a wonderful resource and a great blessing to all 'Byzantines'!

I'll take your word for it! smile

I noticed that the Old Believer Psaltyr is different in a number of points from the one I'm used to.

But I love your bows and prostrations and have a special icon by the front door where I make my wife join me in doing the Departure Bows before we leave for work in the morning . . . smile

Virtue has to be prodded sometimes, I think . . .
