To the offended,my response to the inference made that members of the V.F.W./American Legion/etc.is the same as the mentality of lynchers, aryans, etc.,was shame on you. That is as a passive of a Christian reply to an outrageouse assertion as I can imagine. The Blue Ridge trip question:"seems appropriate to me?"Was for him to make his own judgement call,I was'nt there. All details(boyfriend)was given by Incog.not something I made up.If the term boyfriend goes beyond, buddy, pal, friend minus boy was what I ask to be kept Incognito. Call off the dogs! In Christ,Wizdom

Your posts are rude, crude, and insulting and are a poor representation of someone who claims to be Christian, let alone one who signs himself "In Christ". Neil

Wizdom,
you have crossed the line of civility. Please refrain from making personal attacks. Your posts of the last few days have been quite inappropriate for any civil forum and certainly have no place on a Christian forum. PLEASE READ MY PRIVATE MESSAGE.
To fellow posters:
Some of you have posted on this thread that the moderator and/or administrator needed to intervene. May I remind you that we are not monitors of the forum posts. The quickest way for anyone to bring inappropriate posts to our attention is by using the "report post" feature located in the footer section of every post. It is the icon of a blown whistle. This feature notifies us by e-mail even if we are not on the Forum. This is preferred over the PM feature as well.
Thank you.

Only a fool would mis-spell "wisdom". This is such a familiar pattern on the forum: a newcomer arrives, posts a few interesting words to establish credibility and then quickly descends into idiocy and insult. Patience, brethren, they don't stick around long...

I think it is time to shake the forum's dust off of my feet and follow my brother Diak out the door. I can find much better places to spend my online time these days. What a pity, this used to be such a nice place to learn. But between the political rhetoric and the nuts like Wizdom, there is precious little learning going on here at this time. The nuts and fundies have spoiled it. What a pity. If anyone wishes to keep in touch by email, write me at kansasteddybear66606@yahoo.com and I'll give you the email address I use for friends. Don

Dear Diak and Don,
I understand the urge to go.
I pray that you will find the strength to reconsider your positions.
Your voices are voices of faith and reason here. You provide knowledge and model respect.
So, I hope that you both will stay and work to keep the Forum the valuable tool that it is among our cyber community.
Thanks for hearing me out.
Steve

I second that...Diak, Don, Alice...do stay.
Gaudior, who thinks that it would be a lovely thing to ban political discussion through inauguration day.

Well, it looks like the Vegas crowd likes their entertainment without political commentary... Linda Ronstadt Booed Off Stage for Moore Comments [ suntimes.com] I have no problem with Jane Fonda's, Sean Penn's,or even the late Marlon Brando's making political comments, but when entertainers abuse their audiences, they are crossing the line. Now if someone paid to hear political commentary by Linda Ronstadt in the Aladdin auditorium, then I would say the audience was certain unruly, but I somehow think no one would pay money to hear an entertainer's political commentary.

We have been taken off topic... for (^) those of you who want to encourage posters to remain on the Forum may I suggest using the "Private Message" function located in the header of the posts. To send a private message to a particular member click on the icon of two persons with hands extended toward each other standing to the right of the envelope(Look at my mark above in parentheses). Make sure you use the function from the post of the person you want to contact.
Thanks!

I might pay money to hear a really good comedian do a political satire - there's certainly no lack of material, I remember a number of years ago a comic harpist in the process of retiring announced (as a joke) the intention of running for Congress, in the words that after these years with the harp "I'm no politician, but I sure can pull strings!". However, even the advertised comedian would be letting himself in for some fairly loud ad libs from members of the audience (which could be part of the fun). Incognitus

posted 06-27-2004 04:03 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- //I like parties, especially when they have lots of refreshments, comfortable furniture, congenial company and music that isn't too loud for my taste, to say nothing of my eardrums. Alas, Bush has never invited me to such an event, so I'll have to vote for Kerry (he's never invited me to a party either, but I suppose there's always hope). As to the film, I very much want to see it and will appreciate a review on this thread. Incognitus // The report on 9/11 by the Senate investigation committee will most likely blow Michael Moore's contentions and arguments out of the water. This non-partisan group has emphatically rejected fault by either William Jefferson Clinton or George W Bush regarding any complicity in the 9/11 catastrophy. You can surmise all you might like but the evidence is in and we as citizens of this country must unite in the combating of terrorist and their activities without political carping. If not, then nothing can be accomplished if we keep blaming each other while Osama just sits back and smiles. JoeS
