Broric,
The Eparchy of Passaic is part of the Byzantine-Ruthenian Metropolia of Pittsburgh. The Archeparchy (Archdiocese) of Pittsburgh is the more senior eparchy and is where the highest-ranking bishop of our Church resides (the Metropolitan Archbishop). There simply is no need for the Eparchy of Passaic to have an archbishop. Look at the other Eastern Catholic, Roman Catholic and Orthodox Churches. Most Roman Catholics have one archdiocese per state with numerous dioceses under it. Similar structures exist in the various Orthodox Churches (although the lines of authority are slightly different in each).
Please join us in prayer for the newly elected bishop of Van Nuys, Fr. William Skurla (who will be consecrated and enthroned in April) and in our continued prayers for the election of a new Metropolitan Archbishop for Pittsburgh to replace the late Metropolitan +Judson.
