It seems that interesting trivia and the name 'Alexander' (also Orthodox/Catholic's first name) go hand in hand! wink

Dearest Alice,

Those would be very big shoes indeed to fill! Even with my 15EE's, I would have a long way to go! biggrin

Trivia, what trivia, these are OUR people nonetheless, may it behoove us to take note. This may be a sign of the future...like it or not. As it says in the Revelation of those who dare stand for the Faith in the Last Times...'many were beheaded for the Name of Christ', and .."washed their robes....and made them white". BEWARE...we are entering troubled waters...or maybe we are there already and headed for the falls. mik

Peace Mik!

I don't think Alice was belittling our folklore. It really is just an interesting footnote to some of the symbolism inherent in the article. I don't think that God would want us to behead Madonna and stake her to the earth. We'll leave that sort of evil to the Islamists. Yes the message that Madonna puts out is that of the prince of this world, and we are bound as Christians to resist. But not by resisting with violence. God bless those protestors for taking the time to make a stand. Maybe if all Christians took the time to make a stand, we could put the Fear of God (no stakes or scythes needed!) into those who would turn us completely over to the evil one.
