Br Elias ,

I love the Printery House cards - when I can get them frown

The problem with sending to the USA for them is the postage costs frown

Some of the cards are so lovely - beautiful Script and the wording is so clear and , forgive me for this , unsentimental.

The only appropriate Cards for Diaconate Ordination that I needed earlier this year were from there. I needed them in April , managed to get 2 that were just what I wanted - actually the only 2 designs in the shop that passed my fussy requirements - and was told " Well there's no demand for them yet - it's not the Ordination Season " !!!
Ah well - thanks to Pani Rose I can now print some out and will remember to start ordering in very good time next year.

I'd like to plant a seed about cards.

I came across a St. Olga Cross rubber stamp at one of the eastern websites, about 3 inches in length, so I bought it. I made some cards with it for the front, in several different colors appropriate to church seasons. My sister-in-law is into rubber stamping and cardmaking as a hobby, so she had shown me how to emboss the printed cross with gold and other colors. From that I have branched into a variety of colors, and I have also purchased other seasonal stamps.

Stamping and cardmaking as a hobby is quite a business nowadays, with regional conventions and with tupperware-like parties even (a little farther than I intend to go, myself).

If you have the time and/or the inclination, you might find making your own cards a rewarding hobby. It can even be a cost-saver in the long run. Most urban areas have several stamping shops which carry most all the supplies you need, and even offer classes on their use. Besides, it is a personally crafted item to boot.

I just ordered some cards last week from Easy Greet Cards. They have a few icon selections, including the Nativity, and what is nice is that you can place your own text or greeting inside for no extra charge. They also have standard greetings you can choose from. They send you a preview before you make payment. You should still be able to get them in time. Here is the web address: easygreetcards [easygreetcards.com]

Here are some more icon cards, for Christmas and other times. I'm not sure if all of Fr. Anthony Salzman images are icons in the strictest sense. But, all the images are powerful.

Eastern Christmas cards: I believe that a nice series can be obtained from the Tourist Bureau on the east side of Christmas Island, as part of the efforts to attract more tourists. The cards feature magnificent views of the Eastern scenery of Christmas Island.
