On another thread, an important video was shown about a Christian Church being burned in Kosovo. This is a very important matter, since the Kosovan situation is now being brought up at the U.N. I was ready to post that everyone should contact as many representatives and senators they could, as well as newspapers, media and U.N. delagates, and let them see the video. This is the video, and I beg who ever watches it will immediately send it to as many people as possible. Time is short! http://www.stgeorgebroadcasting.com...odox-Church-while-KFOR-does-nothing.html Zenovia

I can't get it to play, and I can't find the story on Kosovo.Net. Do you know the exact date and location when this incident occured ? I'm trying to find other links to the story. Sadly it's nothing new in Kosovo.

Another outrage! I actually hoped that those men who were pulling down the crosses would fall. (Pray for me, as I still have a long way to go in my theosis ) What is the KFOR?

The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church. One wishes to beat the hell out of the Muslims for such atrocities. Yet, that is not our way. Maranatha! Maranatha!

I'm really at a crossroads, my friends. This kind of thing has been going on since the beginning of Islam. For the most part we passively wait for the Lord to be our protector. He certainly is in the long run but I thought the Messiah had already come. What should His Body do in the face of this kind of thing?
I know, I know. We are to forgive and witness to these lost souls face to face. Help me.
"Ruth Gledhill reports on her blog: In the latest anti-Christian Islamist violence linked to the Pope's recent Regensburg address, the Anglican cathedral of Dutse in northern Nigeria and all but two of the local churches have been torched. When I called Bishop Yusufu Lumu, whose seat St Peter's cathedral is, or was, he was grateful only that no lives had been lost. His bishop's cottage was partly burned, he said. "We have called the police but up to now they have not come out to protect the area," he said. "We do not know what will happen next." I asked him why he thought it happened. Even down the crackly line from Nigeria, I heard him sigh. "The rumour is that someone insulted the Prophet." > > Bishop Ben Kwashi of Jos spoke to Anglican Mainstream after speaking to Bishop Yusufu Lumu of Dutse. "Only about three churches out of about 15 are still standing in the town. The destruction was only in the town. No reason has been given. They just began looting and burning churches from about 8.30 p.m. last night. It was not until it was over that the police came. No help came whatsoever until after it had happened. The Nigerian security system is very good. This is a police system that has gone all over the world in UN peace-keeping operations. Right now we have police in Sudan, we have police in Lebanon. They were in Kosovo. They have done very well. It is not possible that something of that magnitude, directed specifically at the church and only at the church, should take our security systems unaware. There seems to be some deliberate intention to support this at state level."

A thought, see how, in the name of anti-terrrorist struggle, the rights are violated and people accept this. I lived under communism and I do know about lack of basic rights.
I was regarding to some TV news and a man from Islam world, important imam or so, was telling that all the people who worship the Holy Trinity or the Cross must be destroyed.
I do believe that the WHOLE Christian world must take a strong attitude regarding such matters.
Regarding Kosovo, it is a true tragedy, fruit of a wrong Western politics. This Kosovo might be a kind of Alehin pawn situation in future.
KFOR is just some decorative.

A sign of things to come. ================ From FOXnews: Arsonists on Thursday torched several Serb houses in Obilic, an ethnically mixed town west of Kosovo's capital, Pristina, forcing U.N. police and NATO troops to evacuate dozens of Serbs. There were unconfirmed reports that the town's Serbian Orthodox church also was ablaze. For the record, this stuff took place in March 2004. Here's the Wikipedia take on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_unrest_in_Kosovo Obviously, Wikipedia stuff should be taken skeptically, since it can be edited by folks with an ax to grind. But the links at the end are valuable. --tim

Zenovia Please take note of those red flags. They are the flags of the Albanian Muslim terrorist group, KLA, which received copious support from the CLINTON administration (even though we officially had listed KLA as "terrorist" prior to giving them aid). Despite KLA's "Muslim" identification, I remember reading that they had also had a Marxist connection in the past, somewhat like the PLO, which was a Soviet client. Dn. Robert

Dear Fr.Deacon, I believe the Red Flag with the eagle is the Albanian national flag. There may have been other banners representing the KLA, I don't know.I share the outrage at the burning of the church, and I'm no apologist for Islam, but the majority of Albanians in Albania proper don't behave in this manner. Both the Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches in Albania seem to be thriving, though about 60% of the people are Muslims. On another note, there was outrage at some immoderate words used by the person who initially posted the video, but where is the outrage when Muslims call for the killing of the Pope or Christians in general? As Michael Savage, well-known radio talk show host, who is Jewish, pointed out last week,Christians were outraged when an artist put a crucifix in a jar of urine and called it art, but you didn't see Christians rioting and calling for the death of the "artist"'

Dear Fr. Al,
Sorry. I might have "jumped the gun" on the flag issue. I remember seeing that flag being carried by KLA forces in the late 1990's, and I assumed it was THEIR flag-stupid of me. However,we do know that KLA has most of it's strength in the Kosovo region, and I'm sure that their people were involved in this outrage. In addition to a prior Marxist (Maoist?)connection, I also remember reading that KLA had been involved in drug smuggling in order to raise funds. The Clinton administration painted a picture that KLA was, all of a sudden, the "good guys", while the Serbs were "bad guys". It's not that simple. While Milosevic, an unreformed Bolshevik, was certainly not a "good guy", he's gone from the picture, and the last I noticed, the Serbs had elected a much more civilized government. What is especially galling to me is that Clinton's allies in the Mainstream Mass Media do not show us footage of these Church burnings. We have to get it from little-known Eastern Christian message boards. Sorry for the rant. Had to get it off my chest.
Dn. Robert

Tim, Thank you. To be explicitly clear, do you mean that the video of the church destruction was taken in 2004? Originally posted by Tim Cuprisin: For the record, this stuff took place in March 2004. Here's the Wikipedia take on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_unrest_in_Kosovo
