Our lord Jesus and the blessed virgin appeared in lebanon during the war. Many people say it at at the moment and many took videos with their camera phones. i got the videos and i will be glad to show you.
I do see the one of Jesus, but cannot make out anything in the one of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
I do hear someone call out 'Panayia' in the video though, and ofcourse, as I am of Greek background, I know who that is!!!
God bless you, and I pray that you and your loved ones are well... Alice, Moderator
P.S. Do you live in Beirut? I saw your photo with the hookah/argile (water pipe)!!! We have one that belonged to my husband's grandfather, but no one has ever used it. Do you enjoy it?

Ok let me tell you guys something, many many people saw the apparition at the momment(this happened like a week ago) and many people took a video with their camera phones. i got this video from a friend ( yes alice it is quite getting popular in lebanon).....
Joes, It is obviously jesus and mary...you can't see anything else.
Alice iam from lebanon, but i don't always live there (im mobile LOL) i lived in Dubai, UAE for 16 years then i moved to lebanon for college and now im going to Montreal, Canada.
I understand that Dubai is becoming quite the place to live. Did you and your family like it?
I also understand that a gorgeous Greek Orthodox church of St. Mary is being built on land donated by the Emir and should be finished this year. Apparently there are 400 Orthodox Christians there that worship every Sunday from Ukraine, Russia, Greece, Lebanon, etc..on holy days that number swells to 2000.
For what it's worth I see both apparitions but I didn't think that Eastern Christians paid much attention to apparitions. I'm somewhat new to Eastern Catholicism but that was my impression.

One sees what one wants to see. [/b]
I WANT to see Mary, and I do believe these apparitions are true! I just don't see her.
I DO see Jesus, however.
I hope that doesn't mean that our blessed Lady is upset with me for something.

Actually, as a former RC, I can say that the East is much more open to the mystical than the West. For example, a few years ago, there were reports of an Icon of the Theotokos shedding tears of myrrh in the home of an Antiochian Orthodox family, and healings were being experienced when people would apply the myrrh to affected areas on their bodies. The local Bishop accepted the whole thing, and treated it as a case of the Blessed Mother looking out for her children. In a lot of RC Dioceses, the Bishop can be counted on to take a skeptical stance, ordering all kinds of testing, and then, at best, issue a decree that the phenomenon is something that can't be explained scientifically. I realize that this is usually the approach taken to avoid potential embarrassment to the Church, esp. if the "seers" are frauds, or crazy. But, this all goes to show the difference of approach when it comes to mystical things. There was also the case of "Our Lady of Zeitoun" in Egypt in the late 1960's. The Blessed Mother appeared over a dome of a Coptic Orthodox Church in Egypt. The event was captured on film, and was witnessed by both Christians and Muslims (who have their own peculiar devotion to the Blessed Mother). The Pope sent a nuncio to observe, and he, himself, witnessed the apparition. Amongst Greek Catholics, there are the alleged Marian apparitions in Litmanova in Slovakia (see the link). http://www.carpatho-rusyn.org/spirit/limanova.htm The East is renowned for these things.Hope this clarifies things for you.
Alice, Even my athiest friend saw it, so don't worry mary is not upset of you Try watching it again
Jessup B.C. Deacon, Yes, i've also seen the videos of the our lady of zaitun apparition. I don't know if you have also heared of Myrna nazzour from damascus. She is a greek catholic(married to a greek orthodox) stigmatist whom i have also seen. Her body secretes 100% olive oil whenever she is seeing jesus or mary. www.soufanieh.com/menuenglish.htm [soufanieh.com] check this website if you want. Most of the messages she recieves from jesus or mary stress on the UNITY of the Churches and the UNITY of the Easter Feast. For this is what jesus says in one of his messages : "The Church is the kingdom of Heaven on earth. He who has divided it has sinned. And he who has rejoiced from its division has also sinned. I am happy: do not fear, I am with you. In you I shall educate My generation." how clear is that???

Hi Carson! I think it is not so much the apparition, as the message.
Eastern manifestations will not normally have a communication. It is the "message" in the Latin west that is very often the dominant characteristic, and (if we go by the sheer numbers of investigated claims)often defective in some way.
Father Groeschel had a good book that touches on the subject, I forget the name of it right now.
If these apparitions speak to us, (or to a select few) and they are actually taken seriously by the public they become an alternate teaching office, potentially bypassing or even trumping the magisterium. Even if the official church will not approve the visions someone (perhaps many) may take the messages seriously.
That's why the church in the west must be so scrupulous about investigating the reportings. People are claiming visions that speak, very often these could be the product of an over-active imagination IMO.
That is very dangerous when we think of how many people are influenced theologically by 'warnings', 'promises' and other claims.
I am not aware of any popular apparition or weeping icon in the east that has actually spoken, but I would appreciate it if anyone knows of such to post about it.
