Yes, it's true.

Proposed Paton Saint of Intenet Users [catholic.org]

Now is this just for RC's only?

Dear Friend,

St Isidore is also an Orthodox Saint and there are Hispanic Orthodox Churches named for him.

He could therefore definitely be considered a universal internet patron.

St Gabriel the Archangel is another, perhaps because so many like to "wing it" in chat forums, as you know I do smile .

Dear Alex:

When it comes to the functioning of computer hardware and the jargon that accompanies it, for me I would have to rely on St. Jude... 'cause understanding computer technology is a lost cause in my case. It's like my trying to understand economics... that part of my brain just never developed. I get that "deer-in-the-headlights" look when anyone tries to explain the inner workings of a PC or why my company chose the mutual funds it did for our (pseudo) 401K).

My response is usually: "Ahhh, okay." eek

The "Etymologiae" looks like a lot of good reading.

For the Latin scholars:

An interesting website about the saint:

Saint Isidore of Seville, Pray to God for us!

I only have one suggestion here.

When blessing your computer do not use Holy Water!
