This one has left me speachless. What are they thinking!?! I could say something snarky like, "only in California," but it's really edemic of our society these days. Hopefully these individuals will not be legally or monetarily able to proceed with this obsenity and their product.

Dear Friends,

I'm not a Moderator (the Administrator thinks I'm too emotional to be one . . .), but did we really need to know about the above item?

Is it sometimes better not to call attention to these things?

Or am I being silly? (Another reason not to make me a moderator!) smile

Alex (always a poster, never a moderator) wink

Am I alone in noticing that one of the perpetrators of this is a CBS "news" producer?

Does CBS mean "Christian Bashing Service?"

Some will, of course they will! frown

John,
Your observation regarding CBS hit it on the "eye". Is that not the logo for CBS? If I recall, in all the LOTR books/movies, the "eye" is evil.

I believe our Greek brethren and sisters even have a protection to ward off the "eye".

It took a long time for this truth to finally emerge. Big brother is watching, with the "eye"!

Thank you.

Alex-

I agree.

The wine label is ridiculous. The less attention it gets, the less successful it will be. Frankly, even though I'm Christian, I would never buy a wine that makes fun of another religion like this, e.g. "Mohammed Juice" or "Karl Marx Juice".

Dear Marc,

What you say reminds me of two male Jews at a bar and one asks the other, "How's your wife?"

In reply, the other asked, "Compared to whom?"

I know that moncobyz meant no harm and is outraged with the rest of us, but I do agree with Alex. We don't need to entertain such garbage.

Dear Moncobyz,

Please forgive me, but I followed the link in your post, and was upset that I did, it was an image I didn't really want to see, and would have prefered not to see it.

My feeling, is that this forum doesn't need to point anyone to that image.

So, somewhat impulsively, I deleted the link.

With sincere apologies to you, and to our esteemed Administrator or to any moderators, that I may have offended.

the unworthy,
Elias

My sincerest apologies to those I offended with my posting. I was so deeply shocked and offended when I saw the news article, I over reacted. And still, twenty-four hours later, I'm shaking my head and saying: "What are these folks doing... don't they know how offensive and this is?"

Occassionally in my job I have to see the darker side of human nature (monitoring hate sites as one example). Coupled with recent ecclesiastical-related scandals and short-fallings, and a what seems to be a anti-Christian/Catholic attitude by society in general, my faith just sometimes seem beseiged on all sides and I end up lashing out.

Again, my sincerest apologies.

Dear Hiermomonk Elias,

You did well in deleting the image.

Dear Moncobyz,

Apology accepted. Sometimes people get so enraged by something we have seen or heard, that they want to share it in order for others to feel that same rage. Christians are never fully desensitized, much as society would like us to be, to images of blasphame, images of pornography, images of grotesque violence and sounds of crass speech, and vulgarity. We live in an ugly society. Where is the beauty of dignity and respect, where is the beauty of celebrating what is wonderful and awesome? As one wise person I know said, as people fall farther from God, beauty disappears and ugliness takes over.

God bless you,
Alice

Dear Friends,

The only really good thing about this thread is that it seems that even though I'm not a moderator, I could be, since Moderator Alice and Moderator Fr. Elias have agreed with me! smile smile smile

I'll put this on my resume! smile
