I am looking for a font(s) that I could use to plot out scripural texts when writing an icon. I would like it to look kinda "Old Slavoniky" (if there is such a word) yet have the English (latin) as well as cyrilic letters.

I like one called "Lavra" but unfortunatly it does not have all the English letters. I also have one called "Novhorod", but it has the same problem. Finnaly I have one called "RussianChurchCyr" which has both, but does not look as good as "Lavra".

Does anyone know where I could find such a font?

Hi Kadylo,

Take a look at www.iconofile.com. [iconofile.com.] Click on Forum and do a Search (top right corner of page) on the word fonts. You'll see a few sites regarding the fonts you're looking for. If not ask them for some direction.

So are we allowed to use original fonts? Cause I made one up one day based off of how my hand likes to move whenever I write regular letters, I'll put it up at some point if it's Ok to do that.

Nathan- I don't believe there is anything mandating what sort of font to use, beyond common sense; I mean obviously one wouldn't use a psychedelic or "old west" font [unless one were portraying hippie or cowboy saints smile ]. Many of us use "Old Slavoniky" fonts because we are Slavophiles and find them asthetically pleasing.
I'd like to see the font you are talking about...

I'll try to put it up when I can, it's a font I developed.

Basically when I write certain letters my hand goes a certain way, and leaves the marks, making my handwriting very messy. So I decided that instead of trying not to do it, I would just let my brush go that way in a bit more organized way, meaning that some of my letters are a little...odd. Like my r looks something like a Y instead.
