I have used it myself, also for my husband, and everyone I have told it too has tried and and within hours the flu is almost gone. I had been on two rounds of antibiotics and two major does of steriods and was still getting worse. I came across and article on it, tried the kraut the next day, within 24 hours I was back on my feet. Eat about a cup raw the first time, then the next day have about half of it. Here are a bunch of articles on it. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=sauerkraut+and+the+flu&spell=1

Those herbalists really know what they're talking about sometimes. Anything that you can do to get well naturally is probably the best. Watch out for frauds and quacks though. This guy is not a quack, he is credentialled by the NCCAOM. Traditional Chinese Medicine is the largest healthcare profession in the world. There are 1.2 billion Chinese people. Add to that, Korea, Japan, all of Southeast Asia, and India. Now western medicine is just a fraction of what people do for healthcare. People in those countries would live longer if they would give up their paganism. In India, they bathe and drink from the Ganges River, the same river they float their corpses down to the afterlife. Other cults in India worship rats as the reincarnations of their ancestors and drink the milk that the rats drink, bathe in, and defecate in. :p Paganism is bad for your health!!!

Hello, I am recovering from a radical prostatectomy, but 4wks before surgery I spent some time with a bona fide nutritionist, working on he phD and specialized in prostate prevention nutrition/diet. We spent a packed 1 1/2 hr session, where we went down the list of nutritional needs and diet. But, 2 months before this I put myself on an 'alkalizing ' diet (see the web), and she basicallly agreed with 90% of it. NOW, here's the clincher, toward the bottom of the list, AND, it was emphasized....at least 1 clove fresh garlic..daily, and a portion of real (unpasteurized) uncooked kapusti several times a week ....for the natural enzymes!!! Also, 3+ doses of fish oil per week....(Mother used to take cod liver oil..)...! Funny thing here, is that my grandmother, and mother passed down the same advice....without the benefit of any college education. AAHHH, what goes around comes around. a blessed new yr, S Bohom, mik

Dear Logos Teen,
When I was young, I recall eating hot dogs with sauerkraut in a park next to my Middle School. I always loved it. It seems though that it was unusual...at least among the Greeks I know.
Well many years ago, I read an article saying that the army's chefs were basing the soldiers likes and dislikes on whether or not they liked sauerkraut. It seems they fell into two seperate camps. Now it might have to do with one's taste buds, but I think more than likely that a person's likes or dislikes of sauerkraut is probably a reflection of what a person's body needs. Zenovia

Ja Wohl! Sauerkraut ist sehr gut...auch Sauerbraten.
My German mother used to cook it every week and I have kept up that tradition. Never heard about it killing the flu...but will consider it as a flu remedy...
:p
Danke.

just as long as you enjoy sauerkraut. I combined Southern and German cuisine for New Years, pork is the common ingredient. I had black eyed peas, fried apple, greens and with vienna sausages (Pani Rose, please send some cooked hog jowl, I don't cook) and SAUERKRAUT. who cares about whether it cures flu, male pattern baldness or the heartbreak of psoriasis. enjoy, already! Much Love, Jonn
