Does anyone have the music for the singing of the 136th Psalm, in Serbian chant Style?

I don't know much more about this piece, other than after Liturgy, at a Serbian Church I visited, I asked one of the choir members about this beautiful piece. She said it was written recently, for some special occaision in the Serbian Chruch.

Anyone have any ideas what I might be refering to?

Ray, portions of Psalm 135 (Septuagint) are used at the Polyeleos of festal Matins.

If you are referring to Fr. Popovic's arrangement, you can find it in pdf format or the MP3 at http://www.sv-luka.org/pevnica/index1.htm (go down to Psalm 135).

Hope that helps.

Hello Father,

Thank you, so very, very much!
This is "exactly" what I was looking for!
It is so beautiful. I must give a copy to
my choir director to maybe get him to use
it in our Church.

Thanks so much for your kindness; this "made my
day!" smile

Can you tell me a bit more about the history
of this piece and Fr. Popovic?

Once again, thank you!

In Chirst,
Ray Musicbear

I don't know much, other than Protonamesnik Miodrag (Popovic) used to be the pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Serbian Orthodox Church in Toronto. He has a great voice and is very well-read (obviously) in Serbian chant.
