Dear Carson Daniel Lauffer,

Regrettably I called you "Deadwood Dan" for speaking of small poor clergy and parishes as though they are less than worthless when in many regions they are all we've go as parishes.

If I thought I could have gotten away with calling you worse, I would have.

As it is, I apologize for settling for second best.

Blessings....Mary

My posting privileges here are being threatened because I am publicly protesting a Protestant world view and approach to eastern Catholic parishes and the priesthood.

So much for evangelization!!!

Maru,

Your priviledges are being questioned because you are posting in a manner that is not in Christian charity. Much can be won over without name calling and defamatory comments. I suggest that you examine how you post or refrain from posting.

Everyone baptized into Christ should pass progressively through all the stages of Christ's own life, for in baptism he receives the power so to progress, and through the commandments he can discover and learn how to accomplish such progression. - Saint Gregory of Sinai

I accept your chastisement and apologize to your for my recalcitrance. I do hope, if you are a priest in the Byzantine Metropolia that you consider your support of a man who has dogged me with his thinly veiled anti-clericalism since I came on this forum, and who quite seriously and enthusiastically proposes cutting the remaining heart and tradition right out of our Chruch.

God help us all, if he applies to seminary, we are liable to make him a bishop. Perhaps we might want to consider encouraging him to be Catholic first...and then perhaps eastern....

God's blessings on all of us....Mary

Mary,

Such a post is totally uncharitable and you have earned yourself a 30-day time out.

For the record, Dan Lauffer has expressed no anti-clericalism. What he has expressed is anti-laziness, and he has (IMHO) addressed it to both the clergy and people who are not willing to work in the vineyard. I may disagree with Dan on several points (not everyone is called to do what he says he is called to do (a particular style of evangelism)) but it is wrong to accuse him of being anti-clerical. It is even more wrong to falsely accuse him of desiring to cut the heart and tradition out of our Church.
