I'm especially fond of the "All" option, so that I don't have to keep doing the next-page thing on threads with many posts. I also note with glee that "Jump to new posts" seems to be the default. These two changes alone make the new version a winner in my mind.

I sorely miss, or at least I can't find, my favorite thread:

Today's Active topics on the Byzantine Forum

Where has it gone? Do I actually have to sift through the sludge and drudgery of everyday postings?

Murphy's Law.

By dumb luck, right after posting, I found it!

Hooray!

(You now shower me with applause, thank you)

Marc,

We are still working on things. You are going to have to be patient. We will add it to the list to be done. blush

John,

Good question, and we will have to get back to you on it. You have to remember some the features on this software as new to us as they are to you. We are learning the features and making they adjustments as fast as it can be done.

Also, could the splash page at www.byzcath.org [byzcath.org] be updated ? It still lists the posts from just before the system upgrade.

Be well.

How do I default subscribe to threads I post in? The only way I've found so far is to remember to click every thread under thread tools. I imagine it is there and I haven't found it yet. If anyone does, please let me know.

First things first. We have to get the Forum up to snuff, before we change that. Patinece!

Open the message. At the bottom left of the message you posted it will say either:

Unread By: Name-of-Person(s)-you-sent-the-message-to

or

Unread By: None

I understand that in a future release they will indicate this on the summary page.

Ive made a few changes in the layout color scheme, mostly to remove a graphic that many thought made things difficult to read. The current colors are not final. They are still mostly the default colors and Im not overly fond of them. They will change in the coming weeks.

The avatar forced re-sizing is a known issue and is expected to be corrected in a the next minor release of the software (due out in a few weeks). There is a setting for the maximum height and width of an avatar (which prevents users from using really large avatars). It is currently also resizing all avatars. For now I have chosen a setting that forces only the width. It will have to serve for the short term.

John - I think what has been done with such an incredibly short down time is absolutely wonderful.

My thanks to you and those who have helped with this
