The Wrocław-Gdańsk Eparchy of UGCC (Poland) has a new version of the website. Mainly in Polish, but you can find many information in Ukrainian. The site describes history, tradition, liturgy and life of Wrocław-Gdańsk Eparchy.
In my opinion, the most interesting thing is the possibility of sending questions to UGCC priests... Sometimes even the Bishop answers... I strongly believe that if you send a question in Ukrainian or even in English, they will answer as well.

Sorry for my poor English - I am still learning...

The Orthodox Church of Poland also has an eparchy of Wroclaw. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada accepted approximately 10 Ukrainian-speaking priests from the Orthodox Church of Poland in the late 1980s and early 1990s so the ties between the 2 churches are very close.

Web page in English: http://www.cerkiew.pl/en/orthinpl.php

Interesting article about the tonsure of readers in the seminary:
http://www.cerkiew.pl/en/news.php?id=129

I know this topic has been discussed on this forum so it is interesting to see how one Orthodox jurisdiction deals with it.

A good links site for more info: http://www.cerkiew.pl/en/linki.php

Very nice pictures: http://www.liturgia.cerkiew.pl/galeria.html

An addendum:
The actual web site of the Wroclaw eparchy is: http://cerkiew.wlodawa.pl/

I was very impressed with their pictures: http://cerkiew.wlodawa.pl/galeria.htm

Especially of the young children writing icons. I know the priests who immigrated to Canada said we have a lot to learn from the Orthodox Church of Poland in regards to Christian Education.

I'm not sure, but probably we didn't understand each other...

Writing "UGCC" I meant the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, which is one of 22 particulat churches in Catholic Church (this church is the greatest one among eastern catholic Churches). The head of this church is the Greater Archbishop of Kyiv, Card. Lubomyr Huzar. In Poland there are 2 eparchies of the Church: Przemysko-Warszawska Archieparchy (the archbishop, Ivan Martynyak, is a Greek-Catholic Metropolitan of Poland), and the Wrocławsko-Gdańska Eparchy (address of the website was written on the beginnig); bishop - Wladymyr Jushtshak (in Polish: Włodzimierz Juszczak).

The Greek-Catholic Eparchy I mentioned is Wrocławsko-Gdańska Greek-Catholic Eparchy.

www.cerkiew.pl [cerkiew.pl] is an unofficial website of Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church.

www.orthodox.pl [orthodox.pl] is an official website of this church.

The Orthodox eparchy which was mentioned, is "Wrocławsko-Szczecińska", and probably hasn't an official website.

Yes, you are right, the Wroclaw Eparchy of the Orthodox Church of Poland does not have its own web site. I should have mentioned the web site of the Lublin Eparchy of the Orthodox Church of Poalnd:http://www.lublin.cerkiew.pl/

My purpose was to provide information on the Orthodox Church of Poland and thus balance. This discussion forum is for both Eastern Catholics and Eastern Orthodox participants.
There are two eastern-rite churches in Poland: Eastern Catholic and Eastern Orthodox.

The Orthodox Church in Poland is very active and a very vibrant Orthodox Church, although small in numbers. In paricular, I would like to introduce readers of this forum to the activities of The Fellowship of Orthodox Youth in Poland (in English):
http://www.bmp.cerkiew.pl/index-e.html

Orthodox youth in Poland are also very active in Synesmos, the World Fellowship of Orthodox Youth:
http://www.syndesmos.org/

Also, it was the Orthodox Church of Poland in 1994 that canonized St.Fr. Maxim Sandovich Orthodox Church in 1994. he has been discussed on this forum previously. His feast days are August 6 and September 6th. He is a popular Carpathian saint and Martyr for the Orthodox faith.

I'm not against Orthodox Christians, but this discussion forum is, first of all, about Bizantine Catholics. Nevertheless I agree that it is well to talk about Orthodoxy as well, because - I believe - one day we'll celebrate the Eucharist together...

It is true that Orthodox Church in Poland, including "Bractwo Młodzieży Prawosławnej" - "The Fellowship of Orthodox Young" is very active. They have released a very interesting Prayer Book [hamradio.biaman.pl] in Church Slavonic with Polish pronunciation. From the unofficial website of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church you can download audio and video recordings, [cerkiew.pl] MP3s with Orthodox Chants in Church Slavonic, [cerkiew.pl]
interesting e-books [cerkiew.pl] and some lectures about Orthodoxy (mainly in Polish) [cerkiew.pl].

Altrough I must admit that the UGCC in Poland is very active, too. You might see the website of Wrocławsko-Gdańska Eparchy I have mentioned in this discussion yet.

Maybe someone who discuss in this forum comes from Poland?

Szymon

This Forum is called the Byzantine Forum NOT the Byzantine Catholic Forum.

Our members come from all Churches - Catholic [ Latin and Byzantine] and Orthodox Christians and - oooh every one - we have had Muslims posting here from time to time

As I said, I'm not against Orthodox Christians!

Because this forum is on the website of Byzantine Catholics (www.byzcath.net [byzcath.net]), I thought that this discussion is about Byzantine Catholics IN PARTICULAR, not ONLY FOR BYZANTINE CATHOLICS.

In addition, I'm not a Byzantine Catholic, but Roman Catholic.

Thank you for good information about this forum.
Of course, it is well to discuss about both Catholic and Orthodox Churches, and I really enjoy it.

You are very good to share your love for your Church and writing in a language that you are learning.

Szymon,

I am not from Poland, but my father's family came to the USA from Warsaw. So, as we in America think, I am Polish!

Dziekuje!
