"It's not a typo, but the rubrics say its optional to say. You still have to accept its truth though. The Holy Spirit does indeed proceed from the Father and the Son."

So some say, but even the Vatican dispenses with the filioque when reciting the Creed in Greek and the North American Orthodox/Catholic Theological Dialog has stated that the Creed without the filioque is "normative" and its use should be dispensed with in catecatical settings, which one might argue the Liturgy is since, as the EP recently pointed out, lex orandi, lex credendi. I guess I'm surprised that the filioque is still in the Creed intended to be used in a sui juris Eastern Church these days.

Why do you suppose the drafters of this version of the Creed would have made the use of the filioque "optional" if "You still have to accept its truth though. The Holy Spirit does indeed proceed from the Father and the Son."?

"Churches of Cod"? Perhaps they are connected to The Most Holy Church of Rockall [uk.geocities.com]?

And with that I think this thread has run its course. Before anything else is posted to it I am closing it.

Everyone baptized into Christ should pass progressively through all the stages of Christ's own life, for in baptism he receives the power so to progress, and through the commandments he can discover and learn how to accomplish such progression. - Saint Gregory of Sinai
