Christ is born!

The latest information from local clergy is not very promising:

"Deacon Charles is not going to make it. His brain injuries (from whatever cause) are now classified as worse than "severe"...."catastrophic" the nuero-surgeon said. His passing is inevitable. As of 11:00AM this morning, Deacon Charles was still on 100% life support, but his blood pressure stabilization meds had been discontinued. We'll learn more from the family tonight".

Please keep the prayers coming.

What church does Deacon Charles belong to? Have any funeral arrangements been made yet? May our great Lord God and Saviour Jesus Christ have mercy on Deacon Charles and the souls of his dearly departed family.

Anna,

Deacon Charles is at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church, Cary NC (just outside of Raleigh).
The only plans now are to pray for his health and recovery.

May our Heavenly Mother obtain mercy for her children, Deacon Charles and family. May she intercede for a closeness in Heaven with her Son, who also suffered much out of love.

May God have mercy on his beloved children, to whom we pray He especially providing for and comforting now.

You know this may sound odd, but as I have read and re-read the prayers, I was thinking at how we rejoice when a child is born on such a beautiful feast day. Or occassionaly a priest will fall asleep in the Lord on a particular feast or just after having celebrated Divine Liturgy. I know this is was such a tragic accident in our minds. But, our God is a jealous all consuming God. I was imaging in my mind how pleasing an aroma this family must have been to Jesus that he broght them home to him on the day of celebration of his birth. WOW! Then they left after receiving Jesus, the celebration of the Eucharist & the Word, and went home to meet him with open arms. And they are going as a family. WOW!

May their memory be eternal+

A long time ago I was told, when I questioned why a child I had known and cared for during her 12 years of struggle, was taken home , that the Father never called you home till the work He had decided was yours to do was complete.

He must have been pleased with Fr Deacon Charles and his loving family that their allotted work was complete.

May they all rest in peace , free from all pain and anguish in the place He has prepared for them.
