I didn't think Coptic Churches had such Byzantine-Helenic style ikonostasis? Kinda puts most Byzantine Catholic churches to shame, as far as carved wood for ikonostasis. That is real craftsmenship!

Christ is Baptized In The Jordan!
Hello
My bubble was broken when I found out how many of those beautiful iconostasis were created/carved.
Not by some little old wood carver working for hours, but by modern technology.."computer generated graphics and laser cutting".
Regardless what the technique...it is truly magnificent!!!!!!!!!!!thanks for technology in helping to beautify the Temple and praising the Lord

Hello...
Beautiful!
Can anyone explain to me a little more about Coptic Church? I thought the Coptic Church don't have iconostasis. That it's like the old Roman Tridentine style setting (like altar facing east, etc.).
Is that a "byzantinized" Coptic Church or is it natural for them?
Just curious.

A fellow on another bb found the Coptic icon of St. Athanasius standing atop a heretic. He attached it to my profile over there but I can't figure out how to move it to this or any other fora. I checked the link for a picture of this icon but could not find it. I've lost track of that fellow. Do you know where I can find said icon and for that matter how to move it here for my avatar.

try this
Right click on Icon and tell it to 'copy Image Location '
that will then be on your clipboard.
The paste it into a new Document window - hopefully that will give you a URL you can put into your browser - and there you go.
It works for me on my MacBook like that

Tim:
Thanks for the link. The iconostas is beautiful.
A fomrer Latin church in Altoona was just recently acquired by the Coptic Orthodox and dedicated. They might be doing the same thing here.
In Christ,
