hello all ... i rarely post to this group, but i can definitely say that i have learned quite a bit from all of you and find great value in this ministry of common prayer! i have a very special (and very happy) prayer request: i am getting married this saturday january 27th to an amazingly caring and truly godly man. we will have the Ritual of Marriage with Crowning and a Divine Liturgy together. We separately and together pray, read the Bible, attend Church, and do works of service. i am 25 and he is 28 and we have our degrees, have done our traveling, and now are ready to "settle-down" and raise a family together. we are completely open to God's plan in regard to having children and are praying for a "quiver full" of them! i could ramble on all day about him and our hopes/dreams/prayers for our future together but i don't want to bore you! all the same, i actively pray for the members of this group and would love it if you could just lift our marriage up in prayer sometime this week/weekend as we begin this journey. thanks in advance, and God bless you all, Sarina (soon to be Mrs. Bronson) sarina at bronsons dot net

Sarina:
I share with you a prayer I wrote on the day I was married 30+ years ago. I thank God that we have had that many years together. I pray that you will, too.
Also included is one that I wrote when our first child--a son--was born. In raising godly children, one must do many things and the most improtant thing is to pray for them daily.
In Christ,
BOB
Prayer for the Married
Lord, my God, have mercy on ________ and me. Grant that we may perceive that the married state is holy and that we must keep it so. Grant that no strife, quarrel, or enmity may arise between us or hereafter become active among us. Grant us our Daily Bread whereby we may ever serve You with a quiet mind and deepen our Communion with You and with each other. Let us finally attain to Your Kingdom and have You recognize us as Your own. For to You are due all glory, honor, and worship, together with Your Father Who is from everlasting, and Your All-Holy, Good, and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever and forever. AMEN.
Prayer for ones children and/or godchildren
Be mindful, O Lord, of my daughter, (Name), and my son, (Name), for whom I humbly pray and commend to Your gracious care and protection. Be, O Lord, their Guide and Guardian in all their endeavors. Lead them into the path of Your Truth. Draw them ever nearer to You. Grant that they may lead a god-fearing and righteous life, always in Your love. Grant that their souls, being helped by Your Grace and sanctified by Your Holy Mysteries, may be prepared for their passage to eternal life by a life that is now temperate, industrious, diligent, devout, and charitable. Have mercy on them and save them that they may finally attain to a Perfect Communion with You, Our God, both in this life and in the life to come. For to You are due all glory, honor, and worship, to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and forever. AMEN.

Wonderful! Congratulations! May our Good God grant you the blessings and grace of many years of peace, health, and happiness... Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil...
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
