I watched it.

Actually, it is interesting to watch. That creature is clearly desgined to live in the deep of the sea, and it is a living fossil (the species is perhaps 18 million years old). So, it was interesting to observe.

Still: it looks like a sea monster. Get the gun and don't go swimming there ! whistle

Actually, it does have a backbone. Just a cartilagenous one as opposed to an osseus backbone.
What is surprising, is that this is not the first time I have run across a frilled shark. I saw one for sale in the fish market in Vladivostok. The old woman who worked the stall said it made the best fish soup. I passed! wink

Well it is a vertebrate, but the canon says backboned fish. So it is ok or not?
