The evil eye jewelry in Italy (the horn) and in Greece (the blue eye) are nothing more than magic talismen. The folk idea behind them is that by wearing them you will ward off the evil eye.

Greek Orthodox priests everywhere are adamant that these should NOT be worn by the faithful, because wearing the +CROSS of our Lord is protection enough against evil.

They especially hate when people will put a cross and an evil eye charm together, and warn against the nonsense of putting the most powerful cross of our Lord together with magical charms!
