Slava Isusu Christu! Slava na viki!
Glory to Jesus Christ! Gloty forever!

Once again, we are blessed to celebrate the most joyous Feast of the Church as one on April 8th. As we enter into Holy Lent together, I would like to suggest the opportunity to strengthen our spiritual bonds.

If anyone would like to participate in the Lenten Prayer Partner program, please IM me by next Sunday afternoon, February 18th. I will then place all names in a hat and draw out prayer partners. The person you prayer for will not necessarily be your prayer partner (unless only 1 person wishes to participate).

Once prayer partners are randomly chosen, I will IM to you, and only you, your prayer partner's name. On the glorious Feast of all Feasts, you can then divulge to your partner you are their prayer partner. I will post a prayer we use at our parish in the next post.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thank you.

In Christ,

Michael

Here is the prayer:

PRAYER FOR MY LENTEN PRAYER PARTNER

O God, our heavenly Father, Who loves mankind, and Who is most merciful and compassionate, have mercy upon Your servant .(name) for whom I am humbly praying to You and commending to Your gracious care and protection. Have mercy according to Your great mercy upon him/her who have charged me, unworthy as I am, to pray for him/her.

O God, be his/her guide and guardian in all his/her undertakings. Lead him/her on the path of Your truth, and draw him/her nearer to You, that he/she may lead a godly and righteous life in the knowledge of Your love, doing Your Will in all things.

O loving Father of us all, let Your blessings be upon Your servant (name) . Keep him/her in Your gracious care, protect him/her with Your power, help him/her through stressful times and make his/her heart glad in the thought of Your nearness. Defend him/her against the assaults of any enemies, and give him/her wisdom and strength to resist all temptations and corruptions of this life. Direct him/her in the way of salvation of Your Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and bestow upon him/her the blessing of Your Holy Spirit Grant this petition, 0 loving and kind Master, through the intercession of the Most Pure God bearer and of all Your saints. Amen.

Dear Michael,

I wouldn't mind praying for someone here on this forum as a secret Prayer partner, but nobody else has responded.

I have two other names so far, not including Alice.

If you just wish to just post your name on this thread, I will include you as a secret prayer partner.

Dear ByzanTN, this is an opportunity to further a person's spiritual awareness by praying for the next 40+ days for someone else to help them overcome and defeat the ways of the evil one.

For some reason, the attacks upon us from that one always increases during this time, and Lent is (for me at least) one of the most difficult time frames in a person's life. Daily prayers to grant the other person strength is really a necessity, especially now that evil is so rampant upon this earth.

Michael

I have sent out eight private prayer partner PMs already. It is never too late to join. As St. John Chrysostom stated, even in the ninth, tenth or eleventh hour, he is always welcome! (sorry for the paraphrasing but I hope you catch my drift :-) ). If you wish to participate, please leave a note on this thread or PM me.

A blessed fast to each and every member on the forum!!!

I rarely post anymore, but I read often, especially the prayer forum. May I join this circle?

I'll be in the list, Michael.

If it's not indulgent, (or if it is I aopogise) on a related issue not worthy of a seperate post, I apologise if any recent posts have offended; I seem to be having a particularly difficult fast which is exacerbating my many faults; pray that this might be turned to profit.

Ned
