I registered for a weekend retreat entitled "The Theosis Program" to be held here in Phoenix the weekend of March 9-11. The flyer made the program sound very interesting and there were testimonials from people in other parts of the country.

Just wondering if anyone on the Forum is familiar with this program and what their thoughts about it are.

(Hope this is the right forum for this question.)

nothing like theosis, which is another word for transformation, what we all need. oh, check my post in East and West about evnagelicals and Orthodox, I touch on the matter when I discuss an article in a recent issue of Christianity Today.
Much Love,
Jonn

P.S. if more priests would preach about transformation rather than platitudes, we all would grow in theosis.

I attended the program, which was actually March 2-4, not next weekend as in my original email. It is a wonderful program that not only helps to teach the participants about theosis, but also prepares them as teams to bring the same instruction to their own parishes and thus revitalize our churches. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who wants to deepen their relationship with God and bring then help educate their fellow parishioners.

My fellow retreatants included Melkites, Ruthenians and Ukrainians. We will all be working together as a single group and meeting monthly to continue our studies and discussions about how we can work with one another and God to evangelize our parishes and begin reaching out.
