Hello-

I'm looking for some book recommendations for the Pascha season. I'd prefer relatively easy books that don't require a lot of theological knowledge. Things I'd be looking for are:

1. a book which goes over the structure of the liturgies in an average parish during Holy Week, discusses their spiritual signifance, etc.

2. a book about Pascha

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Markos

Oh Lord although I desired to blot out
With my tears the handwriting of my many sins
And for the rest of my life to please thee through sincere repentance;
Yet doth the enemy lead me astray as he wareth
Against my soul with his cunning.
Oh Lord before I utterly perish do thou save me!

SVS Press should still have an excellent pamphlet by Father Alexander Schmemann on Holy Week - I recommend it highly.

Fr. Serge-

Thank you very much for the recommendation; it's right along the lines of what I'd be looking for.

Unfortunately, I can't find a copy of it at St. Vladimir's. My only reference to it is on Amazon, which states that it was published by the OCA and is long out of print.

If anyone knows where this pamhplet can be obtained, I would be very much appreciated.

Dear Markos,

Thanks for the information. If that pamphlet is really out of print, someone should reprint it promptly, and even add some suitable illustrations. Meanwhile, perhaps someone who has a copy could be persuaded to put it on the Internet.
