Hello

I was making a research about the current Pentecostal sects which operate with great success in my country and I noticed that some of them do not come from American Pentecostalism but from the Russian Spiritual Christians and follow their teachings.

A group of them eventualy established on Valle de Guadalupe in Baja California in the XIXth Century. That's how they came to be known "the Molokani (or milk drinkers) in my country. Today some families still survive, some affiliate with the sect (others have switched to the nominal Catholicism of their neighbours).

How could these Pentecostal groups develop without having been part of the Protestant reformation? They actualy came from the bespopovtsy Old Believers.

What is the status of these groups in the United States? Are they clasified as Protestants? What are the differences between them and the Protestants?

I have informed the Orthodox Churches about the existance of these groups in my country, so that they can develop a mission among those who still follow the Russian culture.

Good luck to all.

Annemariea M. Schmidt is a survivor of the German Concentration Camps. A speaker at retreats, she now resides in the US http://sisterservants.com/retreats.html . Anyway, she often tells about her village. She was from Europe (of Slavonic hertiage) and the Nazis invaded and killed everyone in her village, but somehow not her. She was taken care of by wolves until she was finally captured.

But of her village, she says the norm was Mass all day. They spent the entire day in prayer, fasting, singing of Psalms, and using the gifts/charisms of the Holy Spirit. All the gifts of the Holy Spirit - as you are referring to Pentecostals - were used. There was vibrant prayer languages in tongues and they knew absolutely NOTHING about 'charismatic' life. IT was the NORM for her village.

How did this little European Villiage know?

Dear Panni Rose,

My question is, how can I learn more? This is fascinating. I did a search on Google of her, but I didn't come up with much. Can you recommend any sources about her and the spiritual life in her village?

John, she is pretty quiet outside of conferences.
Also, a very close friend of Mother Angelica, she use to appear on the Live Show. I found a series of tapes she has at the Casa Maria, scroll down till you see her name. If I were to guess which one to get, I would say one of these...

The Spirit and the Bride Say, "Come"
The Love of God
The Work of Grace
Conversation with God
Clinging to Christ

The Will of the Father
Come to Know the Holy Spirit
In the Trust of My Father
The Power of the Holy Spirit

I am still searching and found this bit, she is a survivor of Auschwitz http://www.divineprovidence.org/Documents/NewsLetter/Foundation%20Newsletter%202002.pdf

She also has a program on EWTN "In Love of My Father." However, I can't find an archive on it.

I hope this helps, I know there are some old tapes around here by her, but I have no idea of where. If I come across them I will let you know. She is a very gentle and humble person, the Lord's love just reflects so wonderfuly from her.
