Dear in Christ,

I just got a call from my mom in tears that my grandfather, Durward, has made a turn for the worse. He was in the hospital for heart issues which he had seemingly recovered from. His blood pressure is going down, his temperature is going down, and his kidneys are shutting down too. I will probably not be able to get to his bedside before he reposes, and although he is not Orthodox (or Roman Catholic) I ask for prayers for the repose of his soul please.

In Christ,
Deacon Nikolai

it is my prayer that despite the fact that he is neither Catholic or Orthodox, that he knows the LORD Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour, pray that if he is not, that by the last possible division of time, that he comes to know Him. this and a happy and painless death if that is the LORD's Will.
Much Love,
Jonn

Prayer from the Liturgy of St. Baisl the Great...
Having beheld the resurrection of Christ, let us worship the holy Lord Jesus, the only Sinless One. We venerate Your cross, 0 Christ, and we praise and glorify Your holy resurrection. You are our God. We know no other than You, and we call upon Your name. Come, all faithful let us venerate the holy resurrection of Christ. For behold, through the cross joy has come to all the world. Blessing the Lord always, let us praise His resurrection. For enduring the cross for us, He destroyed death by death...

May Durward join with the saints in heaven gathering before your throne in worship. Help Fr. Deacon's mom to be at peace and bring salvation to Durward that he might walk freely home with you Jesus through the intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos and St. Joseph.

Christ is Risen!

Dear Friends in Christ,

Due to your prayers, my grandfather indeed has survived and improved enough to see all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He has improved and has come out of both the critical and serious conditions and while death is not expected to be imminent anymore, no one expect him to make it through the end of the year. That being said, the almost miraculous recovery to the point the he was able to spend Pascha with his family and engage in good conversations is a relief to us all, as we all got a chance to say good-bye and it will no longer be a shock when he reposes. My grandfather and I both thank you all for your prayers.
