Dear brethren,

XPISTOS ANESTH!!!

I know I haven't been around much lately, but . . . I was wondering if I could request prayers from my forum bros and sisters this week and next. My comprehensive exams for the Ph.D. are this Friday, this coming Monday, and the following Friday. The first two parts are written and the last is oral.

Please pray for a passing grade! Thanks so much to all.

Dear LatinTrad,

It is a difficult time, to be sure, LT.

But you'll come through with flying colours, through the intercessions of St Justin the Philosopher, the patron saint of PhD's!

By the way you write the Greek letter for "C," I take it your area isn't Greek! smile smile

Go get 'em, Big Guy!

Alex

My heartfelt prayers to our good and loving Lord that He will help you pass all your exams, and that you will get through this period with a minimal amount of stress.

Through the intercessions of all the saints whom you hold dear....

AMEN!

In the Risen Christ,
Alice

P.S. you used all the Greek letters as properly as one could without a Greek font! Don't know what our friend Alex ( smile ) is talking about. *wink*

I offer my prayers through the intercession of Sts. Augustine and Thomas Aquinas.

Which school are you at, if I may ask?

Thanks to all for prayers, and to C of S for the PM!!

No, Alex, "Greek" is not a field, but Byzantine history is--and thank you Alice for standing up for me! smile My lack of a Greek font is responsible for the idiosyncratic spelling.

God bless all,

Ltrad

Hear the prayers of your faithful servant Lord, and make provision.

0 Christ our God, who at all times and at every hour, both in heaven and on earth, are worshipped and glorified, long;suffering and plenteous in mercy and compassion; who love the just and show mercy to the sinners; who call all men to salvation through the promise of the blessings to come: Do you, the same Lord, receive also our supplications at this present time, and direct our lives according to your commandments. Sanctify our souls; purify our bodies; set our minds right; clear up our thoughts, and deliver us from every sorrow, evil and distress. Surround us with your holy Angels so that being guarded and guided by their presence, we may arrive at the unity of the faith and the knowledge of your ineffable glory; for blessed are you unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters,

Thank you all for your prayers! The 8 hours of written comps went well. Tomorrow is my 2-hour oral comp, and I'm starting to freak out a little bit. I saw one of my examination board members today, and he put the fear of God in me. Please say a quick prayer once more, for tomorrow!

Thanks!
