I'm a "Patriot" and tea drinkers are of the "Loyalists" (as they labeled these folks back in the Revolutionary era). It was considered a huge no-no for a Patriot to be caught drinking tea. But I like tea...so does that make me a traitor committing treason? Eeeeehhh. SPDundas Deaf Byzantine

Dear SPDundas,
Here in Ontario, June 19th is "Loyalist Day."
Canada was founded by American Loyalists of ten different cultural backgrounds (including Irish).
One question - which country gave the MOST soldiers to fight in the American Revolution?
Answer - America itself. There were more American Loyalists fighting the Patriots than any other European country who sent soldiers to fight the Loyalists.
And every Masonic Lodge in the U.S. became a Revolutionary headquarters.
You still have Masonic emblems on your money.
But, yes, long live the Republic . . .

Hello Alex,
(GULP!!!) Really? WOW. I didn't know that Canada was founded by the American Loyalists (meaning Pro-British). I thought Canada was one of the lands occupied by the British as they were in America.
Hmmm...as for the Patriots (anti-British) being of the Freemasonry...well isn't it ironic that majority of the Freemasons are of the British, mostly of the Scottish (Scottish Rite).
The reason I "gulped" because Freemasonry is...well (GULP)!!!
I guess it kind of goes back to Monarchy (as the "Infallibility of the Councils" threat talking about Emperors, Kings & Queens, etc. being of the Church as in "no separation between Church & State).
I've always wondered what would have happened if the Patriots lost the Revolutionary War, then we wouldn't have U.S.A., US Constitution which we so strongly cherish and the freedom.
Can you shed some more thoughts and insights from you on this?
Thanks,
SPDundas Deaf Byzantine

Catholics overwhelmingly supported our War of Independence, i,e Charles Carroll, John Carroll, John Barry etc. But inspite of that, a very warm welcome to Mrs Battenburg.
