I think they should make marriage for priests in the Latin Rite mandatory.

I belong to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese. Our priests are very well paid, which makes it quite difficult for our churches to have second priests...except in prosperous parishes. Therefore the liturgy is rarely performed more than once a day.
Regardless, we still have a shortage of priests.

PS - I recall hearing a few years ago, that a RC married priest earns $6,000 a year, so in that sense, one must have another income. When asked how they can live, they said that the Church gives them food stamps, and when their children are ready to go to college, they will go to a RCC university, tell them their problems, and the college will somehow accomodate them.
