Glory to Jesus Christ!

On Wednesday, March 29, 2006, the Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts will be celebrated at the Seminary of Sts. Cyril and Methodius (3605 Perrysville Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA, 15214) at 4:45 p.m.

That same evening, at 7:30 p.m., Matins of the Fifth Thursday of the Great Fast will be sung by anticipation, including the Great Canon of Saint Andrew of Crete.

Everyone in the Greater Pittsburgh area is welcome to join the seminary community for these two services.

For more information, please call Prof. J. Michael Thompson at the Metropolitan Cantor Institute (412-321-8199).

Blessings on your Fast!

Glory forever!

Dear Professor,

Are you going to pray the whole Canon of Saint Andrew at the seminary?

If you live in the Chicago area, we will be singing the Great Canon on Thursday evening at 7pm at Annunciation of the Mother of God Church. All are welcome. Wear comfortable clothes!

Why is the Canon of St. Andrew so revered in the Slavonic Church and often not given importance in the Greek Church?
