Does anyone have an electronic copy of the Rule of Saint Basil? If so, please let me know. Thanks!

Actually St. Basil did not write a single "Rule" in the sense of the Rule of St. Benedict . St. Basil composed the Shorter Rules and the Longer Rules in addition to the Morals which collectively form his directions to those living the communal life. I don't know of an electronic copy of any of these, but only portions.

Yes, there is an excellent book on the spirit of the Rules of St Basil the Great written by the Benedictine Father Augustine Holmes but I forget the title. www.monachos.net [ monachos.net] affirms it has links to an electronic version of the Rules of St Basil, but I've not checked that out. Alex

Yes, although I have read that St. Benedict based his rule on the work of St. Basil.

Dear Melissa,
That is the prevailing theory, although some are challenging it and are saying he based it on the "Rule of the Master."
