Dear Subdeacon Borislav And Father Archimandrite,

Perhaps I can finally unite you two by mentioning the delicacy of salo dipped in chocolate?

Have either of you two Slavophiles ever had this?

Do you know how incredibly good it is? And how tremendously unhealthy?

Let's see how Slavophile you two are!

Dear Subdeacon Borislav,

How widespread is this chocolate-coated salo in Ukraine? I receive this as gifts from my Ukrainian school from teachers from Ukraine.

And I understand that salo truly does get into the blood . . . smile

While Chocolate-coated salo is not to popular in the Ukraine just yet, my plans for a Chocolate-coated Salo factory in Kiev will change that in a hurry.

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum but I am Orthodox of the Western Rite. I am a memeber of St. Columba Antiochian Orthodox Church in Lafayette Colorado. I would be happy to answer any questions about the Western Rite, the Liturgy of St. Tikon, or any others questions. -Adrien

Dear Adrien,

What of the veneration of King Charles the Martyr by former Anglicans who become Western Orthodox?

Is that entirely restricted to private veneration?

Since St. Columba's been mentioned, I have to gloat again and say that I'm related to him (as I'm sure many of us probably are), but the real kicker comes in that it can be traced back from me all the way back to Niall of the Nine Hostages (I'm a direct lineal descendant) and St. Columba, a cousin of Niall's father.

Alexis,

As a fellow southerner, I'm sure that you are aware of the Two-Seed In the Spirit Predestinarian Baptist Church. They hold to two lines of succession within humanity. The line of Seth (Godly) and the line of Cain (-Godly). As a descendent of St. Columba you are most likely in the line of Seth, so you should rejoice wink. Well, hmmm, I'm not so sure. St. Columba is a Catholic saint. Two-Seeders aren't too fond of Catholics. Hey, do you like snakes? crazy

LOL! I don't mind snakes, but I think they should be kept out of worship if that's what you mean.

I'm not a Charismatic Catholic, after all....

(sorry, that was a mean little pot shot!)

As one who has 5/8 or so Irish heritage (the remainder being Sassenachs, how's that for ecumenism wink ), but whose family has had a very difficult time tracing itself back beyond the beginning of the 19th C) I'm wondering how you managed to do this tracing? Baptismal records?

Best,
Michael
